Accel move to 1 New Burlington Place
Leading venture capital firm Accel appointed JAC to design and project manage their move to Exemplar’s landmark redevelopment of The Crown Estate’s 1 New Burlington Place, where they now occupy 9,000 square feet on the 6th floor after their old space on St. James’s Street no longer continued to support their expansion.
Accel appointed JAC’s Design, Project Management and Cost Consultancy teams to mastermind the creation of an innovative, comfortable and collaborative workspace, which needed to complement the innovative redesign of the building itself.
1 New Burlington Place offers tenants a building that was designed with sustainability in mind – a high thermal performance facade with solar cells across the building to generate electricity, as well as a green rooftop terrace.
The JAC Design Studio worked closely with Accel’s internal team to realise a high specification office fit out which was atypical of investment houses, reflecting the work Accel do in the tech sector with the likes of Facebook, Dropbox, Spotify and Deliveroo.
The new offices offer flexible, themed meeting space and high specification open plan working areas. Innovative design incorporates high quality furniture from renowned Italian designers Poltrona Frau, complemented further by bespoke desking and pieces from Tom Dixon’s Studio.
John Cox, Managing Director, commented;
“Accel’s move to the fantastic 1 New Burlington Place marks the latest chapter in a relationship that I am proud to say goes back 15 years.
Having been close to the design process throughout the project’s inception and development, it now gives me immense pleasure to see the vision manifest itself in this way, testament to the strength of JAC’s Design, Project Management and Furniture teams.”
