JAC Group appointed by Sapphire Systems
Western Europe’s tallest building, The Shard standing 310 metres tall, boasts 360 degree panoramic views of London’s skyline. Not only providing amazing views across the capital, The Shard provides world class office spaces with each floor featuring three winter gardens and breakout spaces designed to give tenants increased contact with the world outside. With glass floor-to-ceiling inner facade, the windows can be opened via independent control systems, offering natural ventilation and allowing the sounds of the city to flow in.
The latest tenant to call this vertical city home will be global provider of accounting and business software solutions; Sapphire Systems. Sapphire’s decision to move into the 15,000 sqft space on the 9th floor is a further display of their love of iconic skyscrapers, with its offices’ in New York based in the famous Chrysler Building.
JAC undertook three building evaluations to assist Sapphire in making a decision on the location of their new offices. The building had to attain a large floor plate with flexibility to develop a diverse workspace and exceptional staff facilities.
JAC have been appointed to work closely with a professional team to relocate Sapphire from their current offices on Lower Thames Street. The JAC Project Management team will collaborate with IA Interior Architects and Mechanical & Electrical consultants ESP to ensure the client’s requirements and vision is captured.
Zoe Smeeth, Project Director Comments;
“I was delighted that Sapphire were able to engage with the JAC Project Management team early on in their process giving us time to assist them in evaluating their shortlisted buildings. The JAC Design Studio also carried out test-fit designs so that the entire team at Sapphire Systems had substantial information from which to make an educated decision on which building to pursue.
With a very achievable but proactive timeline we have pulled together a team of professional bodies including ESP as Electrical & Mechanical Consultants, IA Interior Architects as the project designers and Liberty Safety Services.
Sapphire Systems have chosen one of the most iconic buildings in the world. With each landmark building comes certain challenges and The Shard on the south of the river in central London is no exception. Extensive liaison with the landlord and the landlord’s professional team has allowed us to establish the approval process, the constraints of the building and technical capabilities. Every building we work on for clients is treated in its own unique way, no two buildings are the same and no approval process is the same. Our understanding of the building allows us to give Sapphire expert advice on budget expectations, lease negotiations and design parameters.
With a completion date of Easter 2016 we look forward to working with the entire project team to deliver what will be an outstanding space for the Sapphire team.”
