Arab National Bank (ANB) appointed JAC Project Management to deliver a phased strip out, Cat A and Cat B refurbishment of their seven-floor office at 35 Curzon Street, Mayfair, spanning basement to fifth floor across 8,500 sq ft. One of the largest commercial banks in the Middle East, ANB required their London branch to remain fully operational throughout the works, making phasing the central challenge of the project.
JAC provided project management and cost consultancy services across the full project lifecycle. Works were carefully sequenced to maintain continuity for banking clients throughout. A temporary banking hall was established in the basement at the outset, allowing the ground floor banking hall and upper floors to be stripped out and refitted. Once those works were complete, staff relocated into the new spaces and works returned to the basement and lift car replacement, which runs through the core of the building. All original designs required approval from ANB’s head office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, adding an additional governance layer to design decision-making throughout.
Key risks included the lift and vertical transport installation requiring additional approvals and external consultancy input, limited access to base build drawings, intrusive surveys that could only be carried out once construction had begun, and delays caused by road closure applications and crane lift requirements.
Standout spaces include the ground floor banking hall and the first-floor client-facing suite, both of which set a high standard of finish befitting ANB’s international profile.
The project achieved SKA Silver accreditation.
