Databricks appointed JAC Project Management to deliver the Cat B reconfiguration and fit-out of 11 Windmill Street, an entire seven-floor building across 29,000 sq ft in Fitzrovia, central London. Relocating from Fora on Berners Street, Databricks had a clear ambition: to create an exuberant London headquarters that preserved the essence of their US office culture while bringing a distinctive London character to every floor.
JAC provided project management and cost consultancy services across the full project lifecycle. A key design driver was floor-by-floor differentiation, with each level given its own colour identity to create variety and a sense of place throughout the building. A structural highlight was the installation of an internal staircase connecting the ground floor to the lower ground floor, linking two of the building’s most distinctive spaces.
Standout features include a client-facing meeting floor designed to project professionalism and set the tone for high-impact engagements, a ground floor barista café named Databrews, and a lower ground Flight School complete with a DJ booth, PlayStation, and large-format media wall capable of hosting training days and events.
